As you are aware, the COVID-19 situation has continued to cause disruptions to events and activities the world over. For some time now, the Busy Beavers (GeoWoodstock Event Organizing Team) have been working behind the scenes with our stakeholders including our venues, the GeoWoodstock Executive Committee, our sponsors, our volunteer leaders, and Geocaching.com, to look at contingencies and options for the event.
You’ve hung in there with us as we rescheduled to August 2021. Now, in partnership with Geocaching.com’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations, we’re planning towards summer 2022. Exact dates are pending further collaboration with HQ’s 20th Anniversary event rescheduling, so please stay tuned for updates.
Of paramount importance is the well-being of our visitors and our community. We know that travel restrictions and large events will be heavily regulated and may be impossible, right through this summer. Given this, we are moving GeoWoodstock XVIII to the summer of 2022. For those that have the ability to spend a week in our region, it will become part of the new, rescheduled and expanded Pacific Northwest Geocaching Celebration! Explore, Discover and Connect… later!
A-Maze-ing News!
Yes, we’re still “expanded!” Don’t forget that The Busy Beavers (Helen, Chris, Jay and Christie) and our amazing geocacher volunteers still have an amazing event planned with lots to get excited about, including something special. We’ve continued to prepare to bring the GPS Adventure Maze to the Fraser Valley as part of GeoWoodstock XVIII and the Pacific Northwest Geocaching Celebration.
Pacific Northwest Celebrations
You may have already learned that Geocaching.com is rescheduling their Geocaching 20th Anniversary Celebration to July or August, 2022. Our teams continue to plan together and we are anticipating to still host the events in sequence.
Event Listing Updates
You might have noticed that the event page is disabled right now with a message about the rescheduling; don’t worry, this is the normal process. Geocaching HQ has asked us – like all other Mega events rescheduling due to COVID-19 – to do exactly that while we work with them on scheduling the new combined dates. We will have the page updated soon and are excited to start working hard on getting things ready for your visit in 2022!
Recognizing your Support
All event registrations received to date will be honoured for the new date and those participants will be bestowed with the title Charter Member of GeoWoodstock XVIII. The event geocoin you receive in your package will be exclusive to Charter Members of GWXVIII.
Everyone who has already paid for VIP registration, will be recognized as “Charter VIP Members of GeoWoodstock XVIII” and will be getting exclusive CHARTER VIP access to the Canada GPS Adventure Maze.

In addition to all of this great news, we are also pleased to let you know that all the official GeoWoodstock side-events will be moving as well, to maintain the full week of geocaching celebrations and community that were already planned.
